Situated on the north end of Padre Island, Padre Balli Park is open year-round, offering 100 paved RV-ready campsites (water and electric hookups with a dump station nearby), 12 hardtop tent sites (water and electric hookups) and a bathhouse for campers. Bonfires are permitted and guests can drive right onto the adjacent Gulf beach with a parking permit.

Laguna Shore Village RV Park

At Laguna Shore, watch beautiful sunsets over Laguna Madre, a body of water between Flour Bluff and North Padre Island. The world’s longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island is among America’s best places for beach camping year-round. Bask in quietude at Padre Island National Seashore, where you’ll be refreshed by Gulf breezes and starry skies. The park entrance fee includes free RV and tent camping at the National Seashore’s North Beach and South Beach along the tranquil narrow shoreline (driving on sand only, no road). Get a free camping permit when entering the park or at the self-registration kiosk at the entrance to South Beach.

Low-fee choices include Malaquite Beach’s semi-primitive RV and tent sites in the Gulf-facing dunes and Bird Island Basin on the shore of the Laguna Madre, which has a boat ramp and draws windsurfers from all over. There are no RV hook-ups, shops or gas stations in the park, but a RV dump station and water filling station are available.

North Packery Beach

North Packery Beach, also called J.P. Luby Surf Park, is a breezy beach spot that’s popular for surfing, fishing and swimming. Tent camp on the beach or pull up to an electric campsite behind the sand dunes. Amenities include a bathhouse with restrooms, picnic tables, grills, rental chairs and umbrellas. A bearch parking permit is required.
