Black Sabbath star Geezer Butler has pneumonia, his wife has shared.

The rocker, 73, will need to take it easy this Christmas, as he’s been receiving treatment for the condition.

His wife, Gloria Butler, shared two images of him in a doctor’s office, sitting on the bed and wearing a face covering.

However, she was still able to joke, making a dig at her husband being a terrible patient.

She wrote: ‘After day 1 at Dr with my husband & was told he was negative for flu, Covid, strep & tonsillitis; I said…well, he’s positive for being a pain in my a**e.’

Gloria continued: ‘Day 2 at Dr, he was told he has pneumonia. Although, still positive for being a pain; I now feel guilty for thinking that.’

Fortunately, fans were on hand to offer their well wishes for a speedy recovery.

‘Feel better Geezer! Hang in there Gloria! Merry Christmas! 🎄’, one commented.

‘Ooof what a time of year to get poorly. Get well soon and hope you have a good Christmas x’, added another.

Friend Diane Warren also commented: ‘Oh no!!! Feel better Terry haha Gloria!!😛❤️’.

Judging my Gloria’s comical tone in her Instagram post, it seems Geezer – whose real name is Terence Michael Joseph Butler – will be just fine.

The couple got married following Geezer’s divorce from his first wife in 1980, after Gloria worked as a manager for Heaven & Hell.

As for Black Sabbath, the rock group officially split in 2017, but members Iommi and singer Ozzy Osbourne delighted fans as they reunited for a performance at this year’s Commonwealth Games in the band’s hometown of Birmingham.

However, bassist Geezer did not join them, and remained in Los Angeles, where he now lives.

It was later revealed that, at the time, he was recovering from Covid-19 and had also been hurt in a boat accident while holidaying shortly before he was supposed to perform.
