Dancing on Ice rich list reveals how much stars can rake in on Instagram – including Ekin-Su’s eye-watering fee per post
WE are just a little over a week away from the much-anticipated return of Dancing On Ice on January 15.
This year, Love Island winner Ekin-su Cülcüloglu, EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, and The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex will all be looking to dazzle on the ice rink.
Most of the new crop of hopefuls have an incredible following on Instagram – which means they already have the potential to earn thousands of pounds by posting sponsored advertisements on the platform.
Here, we take a look at just how influential each contestant on this year’s Dancing On Ice is online and how much they’re able to rake in with sponsored ads – using an Instagram calculator tool from the Influencer Marketing Hub.
Ekin-Su burst on to the scene last year on Love Island, winning the show with boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti.
The Turkish actress has since carved out an enviable career as an influencer – she was signed to a £1million deal with Oh Polly after leaving the villa.
She’s also amassed an incredible Instagram following of over 3.2million, which means she potentially earns £8,700 per post on the platform.
Being on Dancing On Ice will no doubt introduce her to some newer audiences so she could be making even more by the time she’s off the show.
Joey Essex, 32, made a name for himself by introducing catchphrases such as “reem” on the hit ITV2 reality show, The Only Way Is Essex.
Since quitting the series in 2013, he’s appeared on numerous shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, Celebs Go Dating and Educating Joey Essex.
He’s also dabbled in the business world by opening his own shop and launching two fragrances, which has pushed his net worth to £8.1million.
All this has earned him a following of over 1.8million on Instagram, meaning he is able to make just over £5,000 each time he posts an advert on Instagram.
The Vivienne, 30 has established herself as one of the most popular stars to come out of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which she won in 2019.
After her victory, she starred in her own series The Vivienne Takes on Hollywood and has presented the Netflix show I Like to Watch.
She’s also put out a string of singles, including You Spin Me Around and her extended play Bitch on Heels, which was released last year in July.
With an Instagram following of 574,000, The Vivienne is able to make up to £2,352 per sponsored post.
YouTuber and gymnast Nile Wilson, 26, is the fourth most influential contestant as far as social media is concerned.
On Instagram, he’s followed by 488,000 people, which means he’s able to earn £2,000 each time he posts an advert on the platform.
Nile is a five-times Commonwealth Games champion but had to retire from competing in 2021 due to a number of injuries.
He’s also a Gymshark athlete and can be seen wearing a number of the athleisure brand’s creations on his social media pages.
EastEnders legend Patsy is one of the most accomplished stars in this year’s line-up.
The 50-year-old actress began playing the role of Bianca Butcher on the BBC soap in 1993 and has since reprised the role on numerous occasions.
She has 371,000 followers on Instagram and is paid up to £1,542 for sponsored posts on the platform.
While she may not have topped the Instagram rich list, she’s the second wealthiest contestant with a net worth of over £9.3million.
Michelle Heaton started her career as a member of the five-piece pop band Liberty X.
After her time in the group came to an end, the 43-year-old appeared as a housemate in Celebrity Big Brother in 2009 and was in the Real Full Monty in 2018.
She’s also opened up about her struggles with alcohol addiction and health battles and also spoke about her road to recovery, which has earned her praise from her fans.
With 311,000 people following her on Instagram, Michelle potentially earns up to £1,285 whenever she agrees to post an advert.
Siva is a member of the pop group The Wanted and had hits such as All Time Low and Lightning.
Aside from his music career, the 34-year-old Irish star has also worked as a professional model and had appeared in publications such as British Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Esquire.
Although his attempt at a solo career yielded a number of singles that did not replicate his group’s success, he still managed to amass over 302,000 followers on Instagram.
This means he’s likely to be paid £1,250 when he posts sponsored content on the platform.
Although she’s only 25, Mollie has already earned several accolades for playing Nina Lucas on Coronation Street since 2019.
During her studies, she worked as a seat filler for the National Television Awards and ended up winning a gong at the ceremony in 2021.
She is a hit on Instagram and has over 101,000 followers on the platform, where she posts about her personal life away from the show.
Mollie is able to earn a potential £500 per post on Instagram.
From 2000 to 2011, Carley Stenson, 40, was a series regular in Hollyoaks playing the role of Steph Cunningham.
For her part as the ditsy but loveable Steph, she received several nominations at the British Soap Awards.
Carley has also had stints in Doctors, Holby City, and Suspects and released a self-titled album in 2015.
On Instagram, she has over 61,000 followers and estimated earnings of £300 per sponsored post.

Now, he’s performed at the venue, appeared on numerous television shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and has toured the UK with his comedy shows.
Darren is followed by 12,300 people on Instagram which brings his potential earnings on the platform up to £100.
With an appearance on Dancing On Ice, his social media presence is likely to increase, which will in turn raise his IG earnings.
He is the least influential on social media with a following of 2,300 and only £20 per sponsored post.
But John Fashanu is by far the wealthiest contestant on the list with a whopping £16.5million in his coffers.
The former footballer has had an illustrious career and has played for Norwich City, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa.
After his football career came to an end, he stayed in the spotlight by hosting the popular TV show Gladiators in the ‘90s.
