First look at the new English pub coming to Disneyland Paris – and the fans’ favourite it’s replacing

A NEW English pub is set to open at Disneyland Paris next year, replacing a current guest favourite.

The theme park has confirmed that The Royal Pub will open its doors to guests in the Disney Village in February 2023 and says it will serve “the best of traditional English fare”.

On the menu will be a “selection of craft beers, all-day breakfasts, generous fish & chips, Guinness-braised beef, authentic pies, flatbreads, toasted sandwiches, salad bowls and the yummiest desserts in town” according to Disneyland.

The pub will replace the existing King Ludwig’s Castle restaurant and bar.

The Bavarian banquet hall is well-known by park regulars for its burgers, sausages, chocolate desserts and German beers.

However, the castle is being refurbished and the German-theme is set to be replaced by an English one, with the pub set to take its place from February.

King Ludwig’s fans have until January 8, 2023 to make the most of it before its doors are closed for the refurbishment.

The update will give the location “a fresh look” with the terrace, the facade and the bar area all in line for an overhaul.

The change is part of wider renovation plans, with Rosalie, a brand new French Brasserie also set to open later in the year.

Construction work is due to begin soon on the family restaurant, which the park promises will “offer gorgeous lake views and an elegant atmosphere.”

Elsewhere, the park’s Planet Hollywood restaurant is also closing on January 7, 2023 – so fans only have until the end of the year to visit.

Planet Hollywood said on Twitter: “The time has come to officially announce that after more than a quarter of a century as an iconic landmark in The Village at Disneyland Paris, the Planet Hollywood restaurant will be permanently closing its doors as of Saturday evening 7th January 2023 when our lease with Disneyland Paris expires.

“Our fabulous team would love to see you again so don’t delay, come and visit us and enjoy our delicious homemade food along with the best cocktails in Disney Village one last time! Or maybe even twice.”

The park also has some grander plans, with a new Frozen themed land to come sometime in the near future.

Opening dates for the new attraction are yet to be confirmed, but guests will eventually be able to visit Arendelle, which will be home to Elsa’s ice castle.

There will also be a Nordic-inspired village that will have both shops and a restaurant.

At the centre of the new land will be a huge 7.5 acre lake, just like Arendelle’s fjord in the animated films.

Visitors will be able to watch performances and water-based shows on the lake, with seats offering a 360 degree view of the action.

And from the lake, Elsa’s ice palace can be spotted, nestled within an icy mountain range.

The film’s characters will also be found keeping cool in the wintery wonderland.

Meanwhile, there are deals for stays at Disneyland Paris, starting from £224pp for next year, including park tickets, hotel, spending money and Disney+.

And this is why prices at Disneyland have gone up for guests this month.
