Five stars Leicester could be forced to sell including Man Utd and Arsenal target Tielemans to fund summer transfers
YOURI TIELEMANS and James Maddison are reportedly two of many stars Leicester may need to sell this summer amid fears over Financial Fair Play.
Despite boss Brendan Rodgers calling for a “healthy shake up” of his squad back in February, the Foxes are the only Premier League club yet to make a signing.
And according to the Telegraph, Leicester could be forced into selling more valuable assets if they can’t shift lesser names before they buy.
This means that the likes of Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Wesley Fofana, Youri Tielemans and James Justin could become available as the window progresses.
Maddison, 25, enjoyed a productive season last term, scoring 18 goals and assisting a further 12 in all competitions.
Arsenal are long-term admirers of the playmaker, who has over two years left on his current contract.
North London rivals Tottenham are also reportedly interested in the one-cap England international.
Gareth Southgate continues to snub the proven Prem game-changer but a move could force Maddison into the spotlight for Qatar.
The Chronicle report that Newcastle are keen to add a winger before the summer window closes.
Barnes could be an option for boss Eddie Howe, although the 24-year-old’s contract runs until 2025 at the King Power.

Barnes had 11 goals and 14 assists last season in all competition for the Foxes.
Manchester United reportedly set their sights on signing centre-back Fofana last summer.
Fofana played a key part in Leicester’s FA Cup-winning side in 2020-21, making 38 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ outfit.
But the 21-year-old was out for most of last term with a broken leg sustained during pre-season.
Arsenal transfer target Tielemans will sit down with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to discuss his future this week, according to reports.
The Belgium international, 25, has just one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
Tielemans has consistently refused offers on new terms but has remained committed to playing for the Foxes.
He is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle.
Southgate decided to hand debut a call-up to Leicester’s versatile full-back James Justin in April.
The 24-year-old looked slightly out of place in the first half defeat at Hungary but the experience will be valuable.
The ex-Luton ace only featured 13 times in the Premier League this term after a knee injury kept him out until January.
Rival clubs will certainly be interested in ‘JJ’ if he becomes available with the Foxes having to earn some crust it meet FFP regulations.
