Love Island’s Amy Hart reveals plans to marry boyfriend Sam Rason

Amy Hart has revealed plans to marry and start a family with boyfriend Sam Rason, and says they’ll be making important decisions about their lives this year.

The Love Island star, 29, told MailOnline that entrepreneur Sam is the ‘love of her life’ and the couple, who started dating in April 2021, are busy weighing up whether to get married first or have a baby.

Former air stewardess Amy admitted watching Love Island, in particular the Casa Amor recoupling, used to make her feel ‘physically sick’ after she left the villa in 2019 following her devastating split from Curtis Pritchard, 26.

Amy said: ‘I’m now in a relationship with the love of my life, I’m with my lovely Sam so I feel all right now when I watch Love Island.

‘But last year, when I was waiting for Millie [Court] and Liam [Reardon] to be reunited after Casa Amor, I felt physically sick.

‘When I first came out the villa, I didn’t want to watch it. I used to go to a lot of events that would be a meet and greet and then a screening of the show and I would say ‘I need to leave before 9pm because I’m not watching it anymore.’

Amy, who’s celebrating turning 30 this month by throwing a Mamma Mia themed party complete with drag queens and an ABBA tribute band, explained that herself and Sam are constantly looking towards the future.

She said: ‘Settling down is on the cards for us.

‘We just need to decide at the end of this year whether we’re going to have children first or get married first.

‘Ideally, I would like to get married before having kids, but I have all my fertility issues, so potentially baby first just so we know it’s done – there is a biological clock.

‘In my 20s, I did everything for me, I did Love Island and life went mad, I bought a house and met Sam when I was 28, so now I am excited for my 30s and to see what Sam and I are going to achieve together.

‘My 30s are for me, Sam, and any children we may have.’

Amy decided to freeze her eggs when she was 28 after learning from a fertility MOT that her egg reserves were low for her age, and she could be at risk of early menopause.

The reality star has publicly called for there to be more support, particularly financially, for women who have fertility issues and for IVF to be made more widely accessible.

This year’s Love Island has faced scrutiny for recruiting multiple contestants that have famous parents, such as footballer Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma, 19, and Boyzone singer Ronan Keating’s son Jack, 23.

Amy believes as someone who went on the show with no prior experience of fame, that Islanders who go in blind may be the most genuine and up for finding true love in the villa.

She said: ‘Having famous offspring on the show is good for Love Island because it creates news, and we all want to see Michael Owen go into the villa.

‘But it’s hard because anyone that knows the industry already has an advantage over normal people.

‘When I went in the villa, I had no idea what was going on. It is good to have a mix and give us a bit of star quality, but Paige is a paramedic, Luca sells fish, and it’s good to see that in the villa too, those people are looking for genuine connections.’
