However, there’s a slight change, it’s not the Galaxy S22 series or the Galaxy Z Flip or Fold series which have received the latest security patch. Samsung has rolled out the update to the Galaxy Note 10 series which comprises Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ models. According to a report by Sammobile, the smartphones started receiving the update on January 2 bearing the firmware version N970FXXS8HVL3.
According to a report by 9to5Google, “for each month’s Android update, first Google and its partners release a generalised Android security bulletin publicly revealing the newly fixed issues that affected core portions of the OS. The latest Galaxy update is based on January 1, 2023, and December 5, 2022 bulletins and includes over 50 “High” severity fixes.”
After this, Samsung works on that update adding some of its own security improvements that are specifically built for the Galaxy devices. One such issue which Samsung has now fixed is an attacker “to get sensitive information” via a “telecom application”. Samsung has disclosed 12 issues that have been patched in the January 2023 update and only of them has “High” vulnerability.
“Please note that in some cases regular OS upgrades may cause delays to planned security updates. However, users can be rest assured the OS upgrades will include up-to-date security patches when delivered,” Samsung said on its website.
