Xcelsior chief executive officer Liam Farley said the Hillgrove project represented an opportunity to finance the development of a high-quality, brownfield asset that will be a leading producer of antimony – a critical metal with limited western supply that is increasingly important to the energy transition through its use in the solar industry.

The Hillgrove project embraces an area of about 254 square kilometres and is made up of four exploration leases and 48 granted mining leases where a 1.4-million-ounce antimony-gold equivalent resource has been defined at a grade of 6.1g/t gold equivalent. The field also contains abundant untested tungsten, which has always been mined with the gold and antimony, but was never extracted in the process plant.

Both antimony and tungsten are on the critical minerals list of many countries, including the United States, China and Australia and the European Union.
The Hillgrove mineral field has been an active mining centre for more than 100 years and is well-situated on existing transport infrastructure. It lies just 23km from the nearest main centre of Armidale in NSW and is nearby other hubs in Tamworth and coastal Coffs Harbour.

Historically, the Hillgrove field produced upwards of 750,000 ounces of gold and 40,000 tonnes of antimony. More than 200 high-grade antimony and gold exploration targets sit outside the current mineral resources area.

High-grade gold areas identified by Larvotto for further near-term drilling include the historic Bakers Creek and Clarks Gully areas. Additionally, old records show the mine tailings storage facility (TSF) contains about 1.4 million tonnes of tailings.

Old Hillgrove records show a considerable amount of gold and tungsten slipped past the processing and ended up in the TSF. Current estimates and some metallurgical auger drilling by the company indicate the TSF contains a grade of about 1.34g/t gold.

None of the mineralisation contained in the tailings is included in Larvotto’s current mineral resource.

Management is already reviewing its ore reserves – a move that could support a preliminary feasibility study that is already in train – in addition to relevant metallurgical testwork, mining studies, plant rehabilitation and upgrade reviews.

Larvotto shares jumped more than 43 per cent today to touch a high of 9.3c, from a close yesterday of 6.5c, in the company’s biggest trading day since last April as more than 6.8 million shares changed hands.

MIAMI (WSVN) – If you think So-Flo is vibrant enough, think again.

This Saturday Holi Miami is bringing out the festival of colors to Wynwood. It’s an Indian holiday that welcomes spring by dance, food, drinks, and getting dirty.

Priyanka Chopra: “I’m from India, rich in culture, in music, in entertainment, so clearly the Jonas Brothers didn’t make it over there.”

Priyanka Chopra loves teaching her hubby, Nick Jonas, about her country’s culture. One vivid Indian festival is Holi.

Dean Patel: “Holi the actual holiday itself is a celebration of releasing all your inhibitions and starting fresh in the beginning of spring.”

And you celebrate by exploding color in the sky.

Dean Patel: “There’s different ways to use the color. You can either sprinkle it in your hand and you wipe on peoples faces. Or you can put it on hand and throw it in the air or you can take the packet and just throw it around.”

Holi Miami is a family friendly event happening outside of Wynwood’s “fun dimensions,” it gets beautifully messy with color drops throughout the day.

Dean Patel: “It resembles an acrylic painting like an abstract painting. Multiple bright neon colors. All mixing together in that one instance. It’s a wow moment and it just drops and everybody’s with their phones out, their cameras out taking pictures, also dancing and partying.”

Ravi Jhangimal: “The way it’s done in Miami, in Wynwood, is bigger, better, and colorful. It’s a free-for-all all. It’s a concert. It’s not normally a concert down here in other places you go to. Here, we make it a concert because people want to hear the Indian music.”

    Hear and see.

Dean Patel: “There’ll be performances by Nara. We have DJs, we do coordinated dances, and some of the dancers go out into the crowd.”

There’s also merch but let’s get to the good stuff…the food!

Ravi Jhangimal: “We actually have this year Ashoka Miami. We’re going to have three stations, one being the dosa station, which I know that line is going to be huge. We’re going to have a chaat line, which chaat is basically Indian street food, and then we’re going to have our main course line, which is where you’re going to find your butter chicken, butter paneer, all the main food.”

Tickets come with unlimited drinks. There’s a VIP option as well.

Ravi Jhangimal: “Everybody that’s coming, make sure you dress in all white. And make sure to wear something you don’t want to not get dirty because you’re gonna come out looking like a rainbow.”

Doors open at 2 p.m. this Saturday.

Jake Gyllenhaal is opening up about the challenges he faced while filming the remake of “Road House,” due out this Thursday.

Appearing on this week’s episode of the “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard” podcast, Gyllenhaal recalled cutting his hand while working on a fight scene in the movie, which co-stars Daniela Melchior and Conor McGregor.

“We’re fighting on the floor, we’re fighting around tables. We’re fighting around glass, even if it’s breakaway glass,” he explained.

“I put my hand on the bar, fucking straight glass. … I felt the glass go into my hand.”

Over time, Gyllenhaal said, his “whole arm swelled up,” which was the result of a staph infection possibly suffered after cutting his hand or during another physically demanding scene.

“There were things like that that happened all the time,” he added. “But gratefully I was really, really trying to take care of everything that we did and my body while we’re doing it. I didn’t sustain any major injuries, which is a testament to the team I was working with.”

Directed by Doug Liman, “Road House” is a remake of the 1989 action thriller starring Patrick Swayze. Gyllenhaal portrays Elwood Dalton, a reimagined version of Swayze’s character who is a former UFC middleweight fighter.

The original “Road House” debuted to mostly negative reviews but, perhaps buoyed by Swayze’s star power at the time, turned out to be a surprise hit on home video.

Jake Gyllenhaal in “Road House,” due out March 21 on Amazon Prime Video.

    Laura Radford/Prime Video

It remains to be seen if Gyllenhaal’s version will fare better. The new film’s rollout has been hit with a number of public snags.

    R. Lance Hill, who wrote the screenplay for the original “Road House,” filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Amazon Studios last month. In it, he alleged that work on the new movie wasn’t completed until January, months after the copyright deadline had passed and he’d reclaimed the film rights.

In January, Liman announced that he would skip the movie’s South by Southwest premiere after the distributor, Amazon, opted for a direct-to-streaming release in lieu of a theatrical run.

“Amazon asked me and the film community to trust them and their public statements about supporting cinemas, and then they turned around and are using Road House’ to sell plumbing fixtures,” the director wrote in a Deadline essay published that month. “That hurts the filmmakers and stars of ‘Road House’ who don’t share in the upside of a hit movie on a streaming platform.”

By last week, however, Liman appeared to have changed his mind, and he turned up at the SXSW screening anyway.

Listen to Jake Gyllenhaal’s “Armchair Expert” interview below. His discussion of his on-set injury begins around 50:51.

On the losing end of Wall Street was Super Micro Computer, whose stock had earlier zoomed from less than $US100 ($153) to more than $US1000 in a year. The seller of server and storage systems used in AI and other computing, sank 9 per cent after it said it’s looking to sell 2 million shares of its stock.

Elsewhere on Wall Street, the focus was on the Federal Reserve.

The Fed began its latest meeting on interest rates and will announce its decision on Wednesday. The widespread expectation is for it to leave its main interest rate alone at a two-decade high. The hope is that it will indicate it still expects to cut rates three times later this year, as it hinted a few months ago.

Part of the run for US stocks to records has been because of hopes for such cuts, which would relieve pressure on the economy and financial system. But recent reports on inflation have consistently been coming in worse than expected. That could force the Fed to say it will deliver fewer rate cuts this year, and traders have already given up earlier expectations that the year’s first cut would arrive on Wednesday.

Strategists at Bank of America expect Fed officials to stick with forecasts showing the median member still expects three cuts in 2024. But it’s a close call, and “risks skew to fewer cuts signalled,” according to the strategists led by Mark Cabana.

Treasury yields eased in the bond market ahead of the announcement. The yield on the 10-year Treasury slipped to 4.29 per cent from 4.33 per cent late Monday.

High yields and interest rates can hurt prices for stocks broadly, while also sucking dollars and enthusiasm out of excited parts of the market.

Bitcoin’s price has been generally sliding since hitting a peak above $US73,000 last week. It’s notorious for taking investors through severe swings in price. It fell further overnight and dropped below $US63,900.

In stock markets abroad, Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.7 per cent after the Bank of Japan hiked its benchmark interest rate for the first time in 17 years. In a historic move, it moved the rate back to a range of zero to 0.1 per cent and made other changes, ending a long experiment of rates below zero meant to boost the economy and inflation.

The era-defining move was widely expected, and it still keeps interest-rate policies easy, analysts said.

Stocks fell 1.2 per cent in Hong Kong and 0.7 per cent in Shanghai after Troubled property developer China Evergrande Group said Beijing’s market watchdog fined it 4.2 billion yuan ($910 million) for allegedly falsifying its revenue, among other violations.

Stocks were mixed elsewhere in Asia and Europe.

SK Brann coach Martin Ho is keen to prove that his side can get the better of reigning Women’s Champions League title-holders FC Barcelona when the two sides meet in the quarter-finals on Wednesday, despite the obvious gap in resources.

Facing a Barcelona squad bristling with internationals including Norway’s Caroline Graham Hansen and Ingrid Syrstad Engen, Ho said he has no fears as his team face their toughest test yet in Bergen after making it out of the group stage.

“What I’ve tried to focus on is how can we be most effective with the resources we have, how can we best prepare the players, give them confidence and belief that they can go into the game and be competitive and get a result,” Ho told Reuters.

“It’s more focused on what we can do to give ourselves the chance of being competitive, and I believe that on the day, with that bit of luck that every team needs, including the top teams, you can get a result.”

The 33-year-old Englishman took the reins at Brann last July and successfully steered them through a group stage, drawing 2-2 at home with French giants Olympique Lyonnais and edging out St. Poulten of Austria and Slavia Prague from the Czech Republic to qualify in second spot.

While Norway are one of only five nations to have won the Women’s World Cup, the country’s clubs have often struggled at the European level. But Brann’s performances this term and the development in the team have caught the attention of many fans.

“We can be flashy with the ball, we can be creative and on the front foot, but when we need to dig in and show our mentality, then we can do it,” Ho explained.

    PLAYING STYLE

“I’ve seen a lot of progression in terms of our playing style, the way we want to play and the adaptations we can make in our game, but more important for me is having a solid foundation of being resilient, being hard to beat and being compact when we defend.”

Ho’s squad is peppered with young talents like Signe Gaupset and experienced Norwegian internationals such as keeper Aurora Mikalsen and midfielders Amalie Eikeland and Andrine Hegerberg, sister of Lyon striker Ada, and they are relishing the chance to take on one of the world’s biggest clubs.

“If you want to progress in the competition and you want to win those competitions you have to beat the best teams, so playing against Barcelona is a super experience for us,” Ho said.

“They have the same kind of mindset as us in terms of trying to be a team that possesses the ball. I’m looking forward to the game.”

Regardless of how it goes against Barcelona, Ho says his side has broken new ground in terms of the expectations of women’s club football in Norway.

“We weren’t expected to get to the group stage, and we weren’t expected to get out of the group, so we’ve already done the unexpected. I think if we were to get beyond the quarter-final stage, it puts Norwegian football on a really big map,” he said.

“It gets the league and the players in this group the respect they deserve because of their efforts, and if we get to the end of the second leg and we’re in the position where we go through, more importantly we give Norwegian football the opportunity to grow and progress.”

The two sides meet in Bergen on Wednesday, with the return leg in Barcelona on March 28. REUTERS

Some restaurants might promise an out-of-this-world experience, but none can quite deliver it like this.

Two-Michelin-star chef Rasmus Munk, of Alchemist in Copenhagen, has announced he will offer diners the chance to eat a meal at the edge of space.

Next year, six lucky – and extremely wealthy – tourists will get the chance to ride on a ‘space balloon’ 100,000 feet (3.5km) above sea level.

Over the six-hour experience, each diner will be served ‘dishes inspired by the role of space exploration’.

But at an astronomical price of $495,000 (£388,535) per ticket, this might be a steep price to pay for a restaurant with (literally) no atmosphere.

A two-Michelin star chef has revealed plans to serve a once-in-a-lifetime dinner aboard a space balloon (pictured) on the edge of space

The culinary expedition will take place aboard Space Perspective’s Spaceship Neptune.

Despite its name, this craft is not actually a spaceship but rather a pressurised capsule hung below a huge hydrogen balloon.

Without any rockets or jet engines, the flight is supposed to be gentle enough for anyone to take part without any training at all.

The balloon is planned to take off from Florida at a rather gentle speed of 12mph (19 km/h).

At its highest point, diners will be able to look down on Earth through the biggest window ever taken into space.

According to Mr Munk, dinner will be served as the guests watch the sun rise over the curvature of the Earth.

Importantly, he notes that the craft will not enter microgravity during the flight, so the guests, and the food, won’t experience any weightlessness.

Mr Monk said: ‘In this experience, I want to highlight food as a common thread in our human existence, and it will be truly meaningful to serve it while gazing down at the Earth’s curvature.

‘I am honored to be part of what I think will be a transformative once-in-a-lifetime experience.’

The company have kept the details of the menu vague beyond the caveat that they will not be able to cook with an open flame.

Given how small the pod is, it isn’t clear if the food will actually be prepared on the craft or if it will simply be served there.

However, if it is anything like previous menus at Alchemist, the dinner will no doubt include a large amount of novel techniques.

Previous menu items, or ‘impressions’ as the restaurant calls them, have included wood ants set in candy, a cod eye gel, and a dessert served in a silicone head.

In 2010 the restaurant even created a sakura blossom dish for the Japanese Space Agency.

This dish was created for two astronauts Naoko Yamazaki and Soichi Noguchi from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency who wanted to be reminded of cherry blossom season while in space

While it is obviously extremely decedent, the mission to send six people for dinner in space is also keen to promote its socially conscious credentials.

The diners will ascend to the edge of space on the world’s first ‘carbon neutral spaceship’.

All proceeds will be donated to the Space Prize Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the role of women within the space industry.

Alchemist also suggests that the experience of looking down on everyone on Earth might be ‘a sobering reminder that our destinies are intertwined.’

Roman Chiporukha, founder of SpaceVIP which is organising the experience, says: ‘This inaugural voyage is but the first chapter in SpaceVIP’s mission to harness the transformative power of space travel to elevate human consciousness and shape the course of our collective evolution.’

Diners will look down over Earth and be served dinner while the sun rises over the horizon. The cost of a single ticket will be $495,000 (£388,535) per ticket

The effect of looking at Earth from space, also called the Overview Effect, is a psychological phenomenon reported by some astronauts upon reaching space.

Those who visit space sometimes report feeling a change in consciousness or a connection to the fragility of the Earth.

In its statement, Alchemist writes that seeing Earth from space ‘has the power to create a cognitive shift and inspire a greater appreciation for Earth and a deep connection to humanity as a whole.’

But, whether showing people the Earth while they enjoy a half-a-million dollar dinner will really ‘dismantle the barriers that divide us’, is yet to be seen.

Currently, Space Perspectives is yet to launch its first commercial flights but it hopes to do so before the end of the year.

If successful, the company could join a number of other vying to offer the first wave of space tourism.

CONSUMERS may no longer need to pay top dollar for premium level camera and gaming on their next smartphone.

Tech giant Qualcomm has unveiled brand new tech to turbocharge upcoming budget devices with the latest AI features normally reserved for expensive handsets.

New tech is set to appear in upcoming smartphonesCredit: Qualcomm

The company’s top tier chip is currently in mobiles like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra which tend to have a higher price tag.

So Qualcomm has devised a new version – called Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 – to bring some premium-level features to the cheaper end of the market.

It’s expected to appear on future handset from the likes of Honor, iQOO, realme, Redmi and Xiaomi in the coming months.

So if you’re thinking of buying an expensive new smartphone for all the new AI features you might want to hold off a little longer.

We’ve already seen how Snapdragon – which is Manchester United’s new front-of-shirt sponsor from the start of 2024/25 season – has spearheaded the arrival of huge new AI tools.

These include advanced photography features like the ability to magically extend a photo you’ve already taken beyond what the lens can see.

Many of these tricks are done on-device.

This means you don’t need to be online and none of your data needs to go off to the cloud, so things like AI voice assistants are a lot more secure.

Qualcomm claims its new chip provides a boost to audio capabilities with lossless high-definition sound, as well as hyper-realistic mobile gaming.

With new devices set to launch in a matter of months with the new chip on board, we won’t have to wait too long to find out whether the upgrade delivers.

“We’re elated to introduce the latest addition to our premium Snapdragon 8-series, our most premium mobile offering, bringing a host of exceptional specially selected capabilities to more consumers,” said Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies.

Android fans set to receive major upgrade to turbocharge Wi-Fi and 5G on their next phone

The announcements comes just a few weeks after Qualcomm revealed a mega Wi-Fi connectivity upgrade and faster 5G for upcoming smartphones.

A new system known as X80 5G Modem-RF uses AI to improve 5G speeds.

But that’s not all as Qualcomm claims it’ll ease your phone from other common problems, such as quality of service and coverage.

    When can we expect 6G?

There is already talk about when 5G’s successor, 6G, will launch.

5G only landed in the UK in 2019 and it’s still not available everywhere.

And separately, 3G has just started being switched off in the UK this year.

John Smee, SVP Engineering at Qualcomm, explains that 6G is still a way off yet but research is very much underway.

“So 5G itself started in 2019/2020, so it’s going to take us through to 2030,” he told The Sun.

“The reason these Gs happen every ten years or so is there’s a huge amount of cumulative research that gets embedded and incorporated into that next generation.”

For now, we don’t know exactly what to expect from 6G except it’ll undoubtedly be faster for much bigger data-hungry products like cars, as well as performing a lot smoother.

Cellular networks are evolutionary – you don’t really rip out 4G to put in 5G, instead kit is gradually upgraded.

At the moment, 5G is being boosted to something called 5G Advanced, which has far greater capacity and coverage.

Across the Pacific, the Bank of Japan will announce its latest decision on interest rates on Tuesday. It’s been keeping rates below zero in hopes of goosing the economy and inflation. Speculation is rising that wages for Japanese workers are rising enough for the Bank of Japan to finally move rates higher.

Across the Atlantic, the Bank of England will announce its latest decision on rates later in the week.

On Wall Street, Nvidia was 0.5 per cent higher after paring an earlier, bigger gain as it kicked off its annual conference for developers. Analysts say the widespread expectation is for Nvidia to unveil its next generation artificial-intelligence architecture, along with the growing use cases for AI.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will give a keynote address after trading closes for the day on Wall Street, while holding a Q&A with financial analysts on Tuesday.

A frenzy around AI technology on Wall Street has sent the stocks of Nvidia and other players zooming so high that critics call it a bubble. Nvidia has grown into the U.S. stock market’s third-largest stock.

Other Big Tech stocks were also pushing the S&P 500 upward. Apple rose 1.4 per cent, and Alphabet rallied 5 per cent. Tesla jumped 5.9 per cent to trim its loss for the year so far.

On the losing end of Wall Street was Hertz Global Holdings, which skidded 4.2 per cent to bring its loss for the year so far to 30 per cent. Its chair and CEO, Stephen Scherr, will resign at the end of March. The company named Wayne “Gil” West as its CEO. He’s a former executive at Cruise, the self-driving car company, and at Delta Air Lines.

Trading was mixed on Wall Street, and the smaller stocks in the Russell 2000 index slipped 0.2 per cent.

Boeing sank another 1.2 per cent to bring its loss for the year to 30.8 per cent. It’s been struggling with concerns about its manufacturing quality, and its latest negative headline came on Friday. Workers found a panel missing on an older Boeing 737-800 after it arrived at its destination in southern Oregon from San Francisco.

In the bond market, the yield on the 10-year Treasury rose to 4.34 per cent from 4.31 per cent late Friday.

In stock markets abroad, Japan’s Nikkei 225 jumped 2.7 per cent. Shares of both Nissan Motor and Honda Motor Co.’s shares climbed after the two automakers agreed on a partnership in electric vehicles.

Outside of a 1 per cent jump for stocks in Shanghai, moves were much more modest elsewhere across Asia and Europe.

Inflation remains the big concern for Wall Street amid hopes for the Federal Reserve to start cutting interest rates. The Fed sharply raised interest rates starting in 2022 in an effort to tame inflation back to its 2 per cent target. Inflation at the consumer level was as high as 9.1 per cent in 2022.

A report on consumer prices this week showed inflation remains stubborn, ticking up to 3.2 per cent in February from 3.1 per cent in January. Another report on prices at the wholesale level also showed inflation remains hotter than Wall Street expected.

Other reports this week showed some softening in the economy, which bolstered hopes for a continued long-term easing of inflation.

A rally for stocks that started in October has essentially stalled in March as investors try to determine the path ahead for inflation, the Fed and the economy.

“You can kind of look in either direction and find a reason to be concerned about equities,” said Brian Nick, senior investment strategist at The Macro Institute.

    Loading

Investors still have to worry about the lagging impact on the economy from the Fed’s historic rate hikes, he said. The broader economy remains strong, but it is showing signs of slowing and that could mean a recession is still possible.

“Things happen more slowly than investors have come to process,” he said. “Policy lag exerting a downward pull is a lot longer than what investors have priced in.”

Fed officials will give their latest forecasts for where they see interest rates heading this year on Wednesday, following their latest policy meeting. Traders are still leaning toward a rate cut in June, according to data from CME Group. The Fed’s main rate remains at its highest level since 2001.

The central bank has held the benchmark rate steady since July 2023 and has previously signalled that it expects three rate cuts in 2024. Lower rates would relieve pressure on the economy and financial system.

Bond yields edged higher. The yield on the 10-year Treasury rose to 4.31 per cent from 4.29 per cent late Thursday. The yield on the 2-year Treasury, rose 4.73 per cent from 4.69 per cent.

Weak financial forecasts weighed down several companies. Beauty products retailer Ulta Beauty fell 5.2 per cent after giving investors a disappointing earnings forecast for the year. Electronics maker Jabil slumped 16.5 per cent after trimming its revenue forecast for the year.

Markets in Europe ended mixed, while markets in Asia slipped.

Harry Kane will undergo a scan on Monday but is expected to report for England duty this week following an ankle injury scare.

The England captain has arrived in England ahead of plans for him to report for international duty at St George’s Park on Tuesday despite looking in discomfort as he suffered a blow to his left ankle in Bayern Munich’s 5-2 win over Darmstadt on Saturday.

Kane was being assessed on Sunday and will undergo a scan on Monday on his left ankle amid hope the injury isn’t too serious.

Nevertheless, Kane will report for duty as normal this week, although his level of inclusion for the forthcoming friendlies versus Brazil and Belgium will depend on how the injury responds to treatment over the course of the week.

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund said: ‘He will be looked at in England. He has trusted doctors there. We are in close coordination on this. Harry won’t take any risks.’

A statement on the Bayern website read: ‘The striker has still travelled to international duty with England and will be treated by the team doctors there, in close consultation with the FC Bayern medical department.’

Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel explained after Saturday’s win: ‘He collided with the post and twisted his ankle a bit – he had his ankle iced. There’s still no diagnosis, we have to wait. I hope it’s nothing bad.’

England head coach Gareth Southgate will hope he can call upon his captain over the next 10 days; particularly given his squad has been decimated with injuries.

The games against Brazil and Belgium are the last two before Southgate selects his squad for Euro 2024.

Kane, the country’s all time leading scorer with 62 goals, had scored his 31st Bundesliga goal of the season in the win over Darmstadt.
