US Open 2022 odds: Novak Djokovic 5/4 favourite despite being BANNED from competition at Flushing Meadows

NOVAK DJOKOVIC is the standout favourite to win the 2022 US Open… despite being banned from the competition!

That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve priced the Serbian superstar at 5/4 to secure his 22nd Grand Slam title.

The tournament kick-starts at Flushing Meadows on August 29 as the biggest stars in tennis gather in New York for the final grand slam of the year.

But Djokovic looks set to miss out.

And that’s because he’s currently unable to compete at the US Open this year due to his vaccination status.

The 35-year-old has won this competition three times, in 2011, 2015 and most recently in 2018 when beating Juan Martin del Potro in the final.

But Djokovic has not been vaccinated against Covid-19, which is the current requirement for foreign travellers entering the US.

And the player recently reaffirmed that he won’t be getting vaccinated in order to enter the United States.
